Yes. Toggling off resets the system sleep setting to default. Like any normal MacBook, it sleeps on idle, sleeps when you close the lid, and the battery stops draining.
Fine if it's plugged in. If you're on battery only, it'll eventually drain. That's why if Mac mini mode is on when you quit the app, you'll see a warning dialog.
